James & Alex Balfour own The Tides. They sympathetically renovated the hotel after buying the lodge in 2004.

20 years hotel experience

James has been running quality hotels and safari lodges for 20 years.

James and Alex also run the reservations and safari itineraries.

We have a wonderful team of over 30 local staff. This includes Chefs and Waiters specially trained by us.

We also employ our own Carpenters who make all our furniture.

We have 3 vehicles and our own drivers will accompany you on trips.
