Pangani Walking Tour
The historical town of Pangani sits at the mouth of the Pangani River. Where old, decaying colonial buildings are slipping back in time. Absorb the culture with a guided tour of Pangani. This offers freedom to explore without harassment.
Virtually undiscovered
The quaint ferry will take you across the river, which washes down from Mount Kilimanjaro. The river is a host to an array of birdlife. You can sometimes see crocodiles.
The surrounding utopia
You can be mesmerized by the surrounding utopia. This has lost itself amongst
- coconut forests,
- a pristine coastline
- and its dilapidated old Arab, Swahili and Colonial architecture.
Once a slave and ivory port
Pangani is now mainly a fishing port.

Saadani National Park
If you are having a long stay at The Tides, and you have not already experienced the Safari Parks, we can organize a trip into Saadani National Park for some game viewing. We recommend an overnight stay in one of the lodges in the park. We can arrange this for you.
